Yellowjackets co-creator Ashley Lyle confirms that a bonus episode will drop before the release of the third season.

When it became clear that the second season of Yellowjackets would only include nine episodes, one less than the previous season, fans became convinced that a bonus episode was secretly being held back. Turns out, those fans were right all along.

Yellowjackets fans believed that the bonus episode would drop today. Ashley Lyle, the co-creator of the series, confirmed that Twitterdoes exists on . She did not give an update as to when fans would see the episode. Only that it would premiere before the third season. “Go bed! Lyle wrote: “Get some rest!“. “There will be a bonus episode between seasons, but I love you guys and I don’t want y’all to lose sleep thinking it’s tonight.

Ashley Lyle added that the Yellowjackets bonus episode will debut “closer to [season 3]. I’m not being coy, there’s a strike and things are complicated.” It’s best to not get too excited for that bonus episode as production on the third season of Yellowjackets is still quite a ways off. The WGA strike forced the closure of the writers room, which had just opened for the new season. Work on the third season won’t resume until the writers receive the fair treatment they deserve.

Yellowjackets

centers on “a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the Ontario wilderness. The series will chronicle their descent from a complicated but thriving team to warring, cannibalistic clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.” You can check out a review of the second season of Yellowjackets from our own Alex Maidy right here.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJeB0RpmM1s
