season 3. “Catherine & Peter try to make their marriage work despite some seemingly insurmountable issues. Catherine also imprisoned Peter’s friends and witnessed his attempted murder. She learns that even the best political leaders sometimes need to make compromises in order to progress.
“Series creator Tony McNamara had told The Hollywood Reporter’s TV’s Top 5 podcast in 2021 that he didn’t know exactly how long the series would last. McNamara said: “I have a bunch of interesting events that you can use to hang things on.“. “At this time, I try to not look too far ahead. I didn’t know what season 3 was at the end of season 2. I like the mystery of what’s next. If you have a show with a great ensemble and a great bunch of characters, you can invent as you go for a while.
“While it’s a bummer that The Great has been canceled, the third season did provide would could be seen as a natural end point. Is there a story that could have been told?
