Christopher Landon gives his thanks to fans for welcoming him to the Scream franchise after he was announced as the director of Scream 7.
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett resurrected the Scream franchise with two very successful installments, but it seems that they won’t be back for Ghostface’s next massacre. It was confirmed yesterday that Christopher Landon, best known for Happy Death Day, Freaky, and We Have a Ghost, had signed on to direct Scream 7.
The news that Christopher Landon would be directing Scream 7 was certainly exciting for many horror fans and the director took to Twitter (or X rather) to give his two-cents. Landon wrote: “Just to say a heartfelt thank you to all #scream fans who welcomed me into the fold.“. “Horror is my passion. I’ve been a horror fan all my life. I promise to make Wes, Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli Olpin proud. I would like to give a huge shout out to Kevin Williamson, my hero and friend. Let’s go!!! !“

Christopher Landon usually writes or co-writes each of his films, so it is possible that he will also have a part in Scream.
