William Paxton was an American actor and director. The films in which he appeared include The Terminator, Weird Science, Aliens, Predator 2, True Lies, Apollo 13, Twister, Titanic, U-571, Edge of Tomorrow and Nightcrawler. Paxton also starred in the HBO series Big Love. In 2013, he received an Emmy Award nomination for his performance in the miniseries Hatfields & McCoys.
Paxton was born on May 17, 1955 in Fort Worth, Texas as William Paxton, to Mary Lou and John Lane Paxton. At age 18, Paxton moved to Los Angeles, California, where he found work in the film industry as a set dresser for Roger Corman’s New World Pictures. He made his film debut in the Corman film Crazy Mama. Paxton died on February 25, 2017, in Los Angeles, from complications following heart surgery. He was 61.
