Michonne, played by Danai Gurira, has been spotted wearing an intriguing new outfit on the set of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live
The Walking Dead wrapped up its eleven season run on AMC last year, but two actors who didn’t stick with the show for that entire time were Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira, who played the characters of Rick and Michonne. Rick was taken from the show by members of CRM, the Civic Republic Military. This happened in the middle of season 9. The other characters in the show believed Rick was dead for six years… until his wife Michonne discovered evidence that he is still alive, a captive to the CRM. She began searching for him at the end of season 10. These images can be seen in the embed at the bottom of this article. These images can be seen in the embed at the bottom of this article.A premiere date for this mini-series hasn’t been announced, but it’s expected to reach AMC and AMC+ sometime in 2024.Gurira co-created the mini-series and is also one of the writers on the show.
The Walking Dead : The Ones who Live is a six-episode mini-series that will tell an “epic story of two characters transformed by a changed environment. Distance keeps them apart. Unstoppable force. By the ghosts who once were. Rick and Michonne find themselves in a world built on a battle against the dead…and ultimately, a fight against the living. Can they find one another and who they are in a place and a situation unlike anything they’ve known before? Are they enemies or friends? Lovers? Victims? Victors? Without each other, are they even alive — or will they find that they, too, are the Walking Dead?
“Gurira is working on the mini-series with Scott M. Gimple, Chief Content Officer of the Walking Dead Universe. Self talked to Gimple about the collaboration and he said, “She challenges her, I challenge me, and neither of us let the other off the hook.” In real life, I am more of a character actor. Danai is the lead. When we work, when pitching, or when we are dealing with life stuff, it’s a great combo. Gimple described Gurira’s ambition as “incredibly creative,” adding that “” wants to do new and signature work — stuff that isn’t currently out there. She is not interested in settling down. It was filmed in New Jersey. Lincoln and Gurira are joined in the cast by fellow The Walking Dead cast member Pollyanna McIntosh and Lesley-Ann Brandt (
Lucifer[Danai]), who plays a character named Pearl Thorne.
