The Conjuring 2 before receiving her own spin-off with The Nun in 2018, is set to return to the big screen when The Nun 2 reaches theatres on September 8th. is directed by Michael Chaves (The Curse of La Llorona, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It) from a screenplay by Akela Cooper (Malignant) and the writing duo of Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing (The Autopsy of Jane Doe). The film’s synopsis is: 1956-France. A priest is killed. A terrible evil is spreading. The Nun stars Taissa Farmiga and Jonas Bloquet. New additions include Storm Reid (Euphoria), who plays a nun-in-training who joins Sister Irene on the mission to stop Valak; child actress Katelyn Rose Downey (Clean Sweep), and Anna Popplewell, who is best known for playing the role of Susan Pevensie in the Chronicles of Narnia franchise. Popplewell is Kate, “a widowed mother of 10-year-old Sophie and a teacher at St. Mary’s School, France”. James Wan and Peter Safran produce The nun 2
under their Atomic Monster banner and The Safran Company. Richard Brener, Dave Neustadter, Victoria Palmeri, Gary Dauberman, Michael Clear, Judson Scott, and Michael Polaire serve as executive producers.The Nun 2 has been rated R for violent content and some terror.
