The new episode of the Revisited video series looks back at the 1973 classic The Exorcist, starring Linda Blair and Ellen Burstyn

A new episode of the Revisited video series went online over the weekend, and with this one we took a look back at one of the most highly regarded horror movies ever made, the 1973 classic The Exorcist (watch it HERE)! Check out the video above to see what we thought about The Exorcist. It was based on a novel written by William Peter Blatty, who also wrote screenplay.

The Exorcist is directed by William Friedkin, and tells a story: When Regan, a young girl, starts acting strangely — levitating and speaking in tongues, her worried mother seeks out medical help only to come up empty-handed. The local priest believes that the girl is being possessed by the devil. The priest makes a request to perform an exorcism, and the church sends in an expert to help with the difficult job.The film stars Linda Blair, Ellen Burstyn, Jason Miller, Max von Sydow, and Lee J. Cobb… and it was recently confirmed that both Blair and Burstyn are returning for a new sequel to The Exorcist
