The apocalyptic sci-fi thriller series The Swarm, based on the novel by Frank Schatzing, is coming to The CW in September
A few months ago, we heard that The CW had picked up the U.S. rights to the TV series adaptation of author Frank Schatzing’s apocalyptic sci-fi novel The Swarm (you can pick up a copy at THIS LINK). Deadline has revealed The Swarm will begin airing on The CW on Tuesday, 12th at 9 p.m. ET/PT. A trailer for the show can be seen in the embed above.The Swarm
, not to be confused with the Donald Glover / Prime Video series Swarm, has been a long time coming. Uma Thurman, producers Michael Souvignier and Ica Souvignier and Till Gronemeyer bought the film rights in 2006. Ted Tally, the screenwriter of The Silence of the Lambs, was responsible for the adaptation, and Dino De Laurentiis helped finance the film. But it never made it to production. In 2018, it became known that the executive producer of Game Of Thrones, Frank Doelger, would be teaming up with Beta Film and ZDF Enterprises in order to bring The Swarm as an eight-part television series. Five years after the show’s premiere, the episodes were finally shown at the Berlin Film Festival. The Swarm, a global environmental thriller set in the present day, is a global environmental thriller. The Swarm is a global environmental thriller set in a present day where anomalies and unnatural behavior of marine animals are causing upheaval all over the world. Swarms stop large vessels from maneuvering. Toxic jellyfish and lobsters attack humans along the coasts around the world. The show follows a group of scientists and military personnel who work together to solve one of the greatest challenges mankind has ever faced. The cast includes Cecile de France (
