On the set of ‘Enys Men’

The UK’s Screen Cornwall has received almost PS400,000 in funding from the government after a report revealed the Cornish film and TV industry was worth PS5m in 2022.

The money will be used to continue expanding Cornwall’s film sector to promote Cornish-language media and extend outreach and talent development programmes.

The funding is from the UK government’s ‘Shared Prosperity Fund’. Screen Cornwall published a report by Olsberg SPI that found Cornish production had increased by 8%, to PS5m. This was thanks to titles such as Lucy Cohen’s

Edge of Summer which were screened at Cannes Great 8 Showcase this year. PS5m represents a significant contribution to our rurally distributed sector. This funding boost comes as the momentum for location filming and independent producers continues to grow.
