Scottish actor Ray Stevenson died at 58 on Sunday after being hospitalized on the island of Ischia in Italy.
Ray Stevenson, the actor behind memorable roles in Marvel’s Thor series, RRR, Divergent, Vikings, and more, died Sunday in Italy. Details about Stevenson’s death are still being developed. The Italian newspaper La repubblica claims that Stevenson was hospitalized in Ischia during production of the film Cassino On Ischia directed by Frank Ciota.
In March, Stevenson embraced Star Wars Celebration fans. In the upcoming Star Wars series Ahsoka, he plays one of the primary antagonists, Baylan Skoll. Stevenson said that he felt like a child on Christmas morning when he saw a tree full of presents. He said, “Getting to wield the Light Saber is just the greatest feeling in the universe,” he added with a smile. Stevenson has played many memorable roles that have left a lasting impression. He recently played the primary villain Scott Buxton in SS Rajamouli’s RRR, Othere in Vikings, Jack Swinburne in the television adaptation of
Das Boot, and Marcus in Neil Burger’s Divergent. He also played Frank Castle, in 2008’s 11001010Punisher War Zone.
