Netflix has released the official trailer for the live-action adaptation of manga series One Piece, with the show set for August 31st.

The official trailer for Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of One Piece, chronicling the adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates, has finally arrived, just one month ahead of the series’ debut. And judging by the trailer, One Piece is looking to take fans on a high seas adventure with plenty of thrills and laughs.

Accompanying the trailer, One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda wrote a letter expressing his excitement for the project, which read, in part, “I’ll say this. This show was not compromised! The show was a celebration in itself. It was a culmination of many things: the actors’ efforts, the costumes and the world-building, the dialogue, and the presentation of things in a live action way. The crew and producers are experts at live action and, frankly, they are also ONE PIECE fans. Fans of One piece will be ready to do anything to watch the trailer and get their hands on it. In the meantime, Eiichiro Oda urged the eager to “have some tea while you wait!”Devotees of the manga – which is the best-selling comic series ever – had been eagerly anticipating the release date for quite some time now. They can now build up anticipation for the show.
