Insidious franchise star Lin Shaye has idea for further sequels or spin-offs that would center on Elise Rainier and her niece Imogen
Insidious: The Red Door, the fifth film in the Insidious horror franchise, is now in theatres (you can read our review HERE). A spin-off Thread An Insidious Story is already in production… and James Wan, the director of the first two Insidious films, has hinted that there may be many more Insidious in the future. One franchise cast member who has ideas for further Insidious sequels or spin-offs is Lin Shaye, who has played psychic medium Elise Rainier throughout the series. Shaye told Screen Rant that she and her son might work together to create a treatment or lookbook to pitch to the powers-that-be. It allows you to use your imagination and, because The Further has no defined plot, we can only guess what Elise is doing.
I have some ideas that I may implement and create a lookbook with my son. We’ve discussed that. He is a very talented writer and creator. I wouldn’t do anything, obviously, without approval of any kind, but in terms of my own imagination, there’s some nice stories I can come up with.“[Laughs]Shaye specifically said that she would like to see the continuing story of Elise’s niece Imogen, who is also psychic and was played by Caitlin Gerard in Insidious: The Last Key
. “something I’ve always wondered about is why we haven’t seen any more of Imogen. It didn’t bother, but I was always curious as to why they would end it that way if they were not going to continue with the same characters. I don’t know, it’s a finicky series in that they’ve created characters in different installments, but we never see them again or the storyline never continues. So — pardon the phrase — maybe we’ll end up all in The Further. It’s possible, we’ve really created a true universe of people, so it’s sort of open-ended, totally, which is a beautiful way to create.“[Laughs]Would you like to see more Insidious
