Julien Leclercq is directing an untitled remake of Henri-Georges Clouzot’s 1953 thriller The Wages Of Fear for Netflix, starring Franck Gastambide, Alban Lenoir, Ana Girardot and Sofiane Zermani.
Netflix has also unveiled the first look from the project (image above) which is now in production.
The French-language film will be produced by Julien Madon and Leclercq’s Labyrinthe Films in association with TF1 Studio. Leclercq and Hamid Hylioua wrote the script.
The film is about four men hired to transport nitroglycerine through South America without the appropriate safety equipment.
The original film was based on the 1950 French novel The Salary Of Fear by Georges Arnaud and won the best film award at both Cannes and Berlin in 1954 as well as the Bafta for best film.
Leclercq’s credits include action titles Of Earth And Blood and The Crew, Netflix film Sentinelle and the series Ganglands, co-created with Hlioua, also for Netflix.
