Jamie Foxx was hospitalized but is recovering quickly after suffering a “medical complication” while filming Back in Action.

Actor Jamie Foxx (the second x is silent) is recovering after being taken to the hospital following an undisclosed “medical complication” on Wednesday.

Jamie Foxx’s daughter, Corinne, posted the following on Instagram: “We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. He is recovering well thanks to prompt action and excellent care. We know how much he is loved and we appreciate your prayers. The family requests privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx family.” No further details from the family or officials have been provided at this time, but that the news of both the “complication” and his recovery came in the same post should indicate there is nothing too serious that will keep Foxx down for long.

The incident occurred in Atlanta, where Jamie Foxx is currently filming the Netflix action-comedy Back in Action alongside Cameron Diaz, Glenn Close and Kyle Chandler and under the direction of Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses, Baywatch). The filming of Back In Action, which was supposed to be completed this week, has been delayed. However, there is no information on whether this is due to the star. Diaz’s return after a near decade-long absence has been a major factor in the movie’s success. Foxx and Diaz previously shared credits on 2014’s Annie and Oliver Stone’s Any Given Sunday (1999).

Jamie Foxx has kept busy with some high-profile movies as of late, like Pixar’s Oscar-winning Soul and reprising his role as Electro in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Foxx is also working on a number other projects, including Back In Action. Foxx’s would-be directorial debut, All Star Weekend will not be seen anytime soon, if ever. This was due to concerns over the casting of Robert Downey Jr., who only appeared briefly in the film, as a Mexican. Foxx said at the time that “It’s tough…with the lay-out of comedy…We are trying to break open sensitive corners where people can laugh again.” Send your best wishes to Foxx in the comments section below.
