and another Fast & Furious alum. Wan discusses where he thinks the movie fits within the DC Universe as it changes. Wan was asked about the adjustments he had to make as the film progressed. Wan explained,

“I’ve made adjustments along the way. The DCU has gone through many versions and it was difficult to keep track of everything that was happening. Fortunately, the Aquaman[contract negotiations] universe is pretty far removed from the rest of the world. We are going to different underwater kingdoms, which are not necessarily connected to what is happening with other movies and characters. So we’re separate in that regard. So I can just tell my story on its own without being affected too much, but at the same time, I have to be mindful of what’s been happening.”As long as the movie has been in production (filming commenced in June of 2021), the film is still not going to be released until late this year. Wan provides an update on the post-production. I hope to finish it soon. We have the DGA thing coming up next month. So there are just a few things that we need to finish. It’s quite a large movie. It’s a big movie. I think that people will be surprised to see how different this movie is from the first one in terms of its tone. It’s a bit more serious and we’re tackling issues like climate changes. We’re not afraid to lean into that in a big way, because the
