He wants to bring an African American baseball star to the major leagues. He tells Jackie (played superbly by Chadwick Boseman), that he is going to face racism on a level unmatched, but he must keep his composure. The film shows his struggles in the game, and how they changed acceptance outside the game of baseball. A great movie that has a fantastic message. After her boss breaks her ankle in a skiing accident she finds out that her boss plans to take her idea forward and claim it for herself. She takes over her boss’s role and proceeds with the merger by herself. She falls in love with Jack Trainer (Ford) along the way. Her boss accuses her on the day of merger of stealing her idea. The movie is a lot of fun, and at the time, it was interesting to see Ford in a different role than we had been used to.

Before he ended up in one of the biggest movies of all time, Ford would play some great supporting parts like he does here in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Conversation. Gene Hackman plays an expert sound engineer who is hired by a boss to spy on a female. He does his job but follows a set of strict rules. Rachel McAdams plays Becky, a producer hired to run a failing morning TV show. She starts to shake things by changing hosts but finds out that the show will be cancelled in six weeks if the ratings don’t increase. She tries everything to increase ratings, but nothing works. Check out these great performances. Detective John Book (Ford), is assigned to keep the boy and his mom safe. When he learns that his life is in danger, Ford returns with the boy and mother to their community. He tries to blend into the Amish community, while keeping the boy safe. The men who are after him soon find his location. Book is worried because the community believes in nonviolence. It will be up him to protect everyone and himself. Peter Weir has directed a beautiful movie. While he is taking a shower, the wife mysteriously leaves their hotel room. He searches for his wife in the hotel, but discovers that she may have been forced out. He is left to search for her alone after the police and French government refuse to help. He teams up with an 18-year-old woman who is a heroin dealer and may have some ties to the kidnapping of his wife. As they plunge into the Parisian underground, he realizes that this situation is much more serious than he had imagined. This is one Roman Polanski’s most accessible films. As he begins to investigate her death, the evidence that is left behind starts to point towards him as the murderer. He must now find out who killed his wife when he becomes the number-one suspect. He uncovers a series of blackmails and motives that could be used to identify her killer. It’s always entertaining to watch Ford as a man who is backed into a crouch and searching for the truth. This is being remade into an Apple TV show with Jake Gyllenhaal.
