The Max streaming service has unveiled a trailer for the animated series Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, which premieres later this month

Four weeks ago, the streaming service formerly known as HBO Max and now simply known as Max unveiled a teaser trailer for the animated series Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, which serves as a prequel to the 1984 classic Gremlins (watch it HERE). The show will premiere on May 23th. Now, less than two weeks before the premiere, a trailer for Gremlins Secrets of the Mogwai is available online. will take viewers back to 1920s Shanghai where the Wing family first meets the young Mogwai called Gizmo. Sam Wing (future shop owner Mr. Wing in the 1984 Gremlins film) accepts the dangerous task to take Gizmo home and embarks on a journey through the Chinese countryside. Sam and Gizmo, along with a teenage street thief called Elle, encounter and sometimes battle colorful monsters and spirits of Chinese folklore. The voice cast includes Ming-Na Wen (voice), James Hong (voice), BD Wong (voice), Matthew Rhys (voice), Izaac Wan (voice), AJ LoCascio and Gabrielle Nevaeh Green. Guest stars will include Sandra Oh, Randall Park, George Takei, Bowen Yang, and Zach Galligan, who played Billy Peltzer in Gremlins

and Gremlins 2: The New Batch.Tze Chun wrote Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai

and serves as the showrunner. The show is executive-produced by Steven Spielberg (executive producer), Brendan Hay (President of Warner Bros. ), and Sam Register, who is the President of Warner Bros. Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey and the Amblin Television presidents Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey are responsible for Animation and Cartoon Network Studios. Dan Krall is the supervising producer. Amblin Television produces the series in association Warner Bros. Animation.
