Grace Park is an American-born Canadian actress. She gained recognition as Sharon “Boomer” Valerii and Sharon “Athena” Agathon on Battlestar Galactica, as well as Shannon Ng in the Canadian television series teen soap Edgemont.
Born as Jee Un Park on March 6, 1979 in Los Angeles, Grace Park’s family moved to Vancouver while she was just a child. She has taken science fiction television audiences by storm Cylon sleeper agent Sharon “Boomer” Valerii in the new adaptation of Battlestar Galactica. She started out on the TV series Edgemont and has also appeared in movies such as Romeo Must Die. She has guest-starred on numerous television episodes for series like The Outer Limits, Dark Angel, The Immortal, and Stargate-SG1. Grace has also earned a degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. She also speaks two languages fluently (English, Korean) as well as knowing some Cantonese and French.
At age 25, Park was cast as high school student Shannon Ng on the Canadian teen soap opera Edgemont. She appeared in the miniseries Battlestar Galactica in 2003 and continued as the same or related characters in subsequent series and films. Park had a role in the 2007 movie West 32nd, a crime drama set in New York City’s Korean neighbourhood. She appeared as Lt. Sandra Telfair in Electronic Arts’ Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, along with her Battlestar Galactica co-star, Tricia Helfer.
