MVD Rewind Collection is giving the 1988 creature feature Ghoulies II a new Blu-ray release, with a 4K UHD possibly following
Last week, we shared the news that the 1985 creature feature Ghoulies (watch it HERE) is getting a Blu-ray and 4K UHD release, courtesy of MVD Rewind Collection, on September 12th. MVD Rewind Collection will also release the 1988 sequel, Ghoulies I on the same date. You can watch that one HERE. The company is hoping to give the film a 4K UHD release as well, but they can’t say for sure when that is going to happen.
Albert Band (the father of Full Moon founder Charles Band) directed Ghoulies II from a script by Charlie Dolan and Dennis Paoli, telling the following story: The Ghoulies are back and more devilish than ever, as they turn an unsuspecting carnival into a house of pandemonium in this wildly outrageous sequel to the original smash hit “Ghoulies”! The “Satan’s Den”, a spooky House of Horrors, has been given a final warning. Either the House of Horrors spooks up its act and scares dozens of customers quickly or its gateway to Hell will be closed forever. When Larry Prentice and his uncle Ned think that there is no chance of saving their show, some uninvited guests come to spice things. The Ghoulies move into “Satan’s Den”, where they cause havoc at the fairground. Profits soar. The MVD Rewind Collection stated: “
I’d have loved to announce it on 4K Ultra HD but due to unforeseen circumstance we are only announcing the MVD Rewind Collection’s Edition Bluray of Ghoulies.Do know, I’m working diligently behind-the-scenes to procure the most suitable materials for a future 4K Ultra HD release of Ghoulies II. In fact, I’m I have always been completely transparent, sharing as much information about Ghoulies II as I know what a frustrating experience it can be. Believe me, I feel your pain.
