Paramount+’s Fraiser revival first look photos show Fraiser Crane tickling the ivories and more as the show’s fall premiere approaches.
After 19 years, Frasier and the gang are back! Yesterday, Paramount+ debuted a gallery of first-look images for its upcoming Frasier revival, featuring new and returning cast members for another round of outrageous comedy. The teaser, which does not show any footage, is the new version Kelsey Grammar’s beloved “tossed salad and scrambled egg” theme song. Premiering Thursday, October 12, the new series “follows Frasier Crane in the next chapter of his life as he returns to Boston with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two to finally fulfill.” In addition to debuting in the middle of the Fall schedule, CBS will air two back-to-back episodes on Tuesday, October 17.
The Frasier revival consists of 10 episodes filmed in front of a live audience at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles. Kelsey Grammer is back as the show’s main character. Jack Cutmore Scott will play Frasier Crane’s son Freddy. Nicholas Lyndhurst will portray Frasier, a former college friend turned university professor Alan. Toks Olaguntoye will be Olivia, Alan’s co-worker and head of the psychology department at the university. Jess Salgueiro, Freddy’s roommate Eve, and Anders Keith, Frasier, David’s nephew. According to Grammer’s statement, Pierce did not want to repeat his performance as the character that fans love. However, Pierce told
Vulture he was never approached about participating in the revival. “No one approached me about it so it was not something I turned down,” said Pierce to the outlet. It was not something I wanted to do. I don’t think there’s much more I can say about the characters. I love them, but I don’t miss them. It’s just too valuable for me to do it again. Because it’s so important to me, I wouldn’t just do it for the sake of doing it. And I believe it can be done without me, too — finding new stories to tell, in the same way that Frasier did after Cheers. They didn’t bring along the Cheers gang to make a new show.”Another actor who won’t return to the show is Jane Leeves, who played Daphne Moon, Frasier’s live-in housekeeper and physical therapist for his father, Martin. Bebe Neuwirth will return as Dr. Lilith sternin, Frasier’s former wife and colleague. She’ll guest star alongside Peri Gilpin, who plays Frasier’s former radio producer Roz.Paramount+’s Frasier revival is shaping up to be quite the reunion. The 10-episode series could be one of the biggest comedies this season, with several stars returning. With countless productions on pause because of the strike, the Frasier
revival arrives at a time when new and exciting content is rare and energizing.
