The fun of the
Fast & Furious
series is seeing how ridiculous they can make their action sequences. We’ve seen a heist where two cars drag a vault across a city. We’ve also seen mid-air catches from speeding cars. They did. After Tyrese’s and Ludacris’ characters in F9 The Fast Saga traveled to space by car, the director for
FastX decided to bring the next film to Earth. Louis Leterrier told Entertainment Weekly: “What could I do?” Time travel? There was nothing I could have said or done to make it bigger. There’s no other way. They went into space, so I said, “Let’s bring this back to Earth.” Leterrier chose to stick to what worked when the series became a billion dollar franchise, despite the fact that it is usually the goal of sequels to surpass the previous film. He continues, ‘I love the Fast and Furious films with international espionage, going to space, and all that, but it’s not the reason I watch them. If I’m ever able to direct a Fast and Furious
movie it will be the one that brings racing back to the forefront. That’s my legacy as a director, I wanted to bring cars back to the forefront of Fast & Furious.” Ever since Fast Five, the franchise veered into more of a Mission: Impossible-with-cars style of action rather than just the street racing. The mechanical mayhem will continue in FastX with sequences such as a chase to catch a runaway bomb on the streets of Rome, and a showdown with a car fitted with cannons. Diesel, who is a producer on these films, has teased in the past that the creative team has brainstormed a number of thrilling sequences, which include a chase on the Great Wall of China, so even though the series is seemingly coming to an end, there will be no shortage of ideas of where to take the cars next.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IrYCRpnS8c
