Fast X and blames him for the film’s less than stellar reviews. RadarOnline reports that “Vin is embarrassed that Jason is being branded as the only bright spot in this film and stealing their thunder in the franchise they built themselves.” An anonymous insider told RadarOnline that “Vin is embarassed Jason is being labelled the only bright point in the film and taking his thunder in the series he created.” The source also said that Diesel was upset about Momoa. Vin’s attempts to poison the public against Vin are not appreciated by Jason. This could be Hollywood’s biggest feud.” Diesel was said to be late and unprepared. Justin Lin, who was the original director of Fast Five, clashed with Diesel during the first two weeks of production. Lin eventually left the project in the middle. A meeting with Vin and producers was said to have ended with Lin slamming the door and a source says,
“Justin finally had enough and said, ‘This movie is not worth my mental health.'”Momoa was cast as Dante Reyes, who is retconned as the son of the corrupt villain in Fast Five, the entry that revitalized the series. Momoa, along with the new director Louis Leterrier decided to give this villain a more flamboyant androgynous personality. Momoa’s devil-may care performance has been praised by many for bringing a new energy and a new level of humor to the series.
