Back in 2021, Chris Rowan, an art director and prop stylist for film and television, purchased the house that was shown to be the home of serial killer Buffalo Bill in Jonathan Demme’s 1991 classic The Silence of the Lambs (watch it HERE), then turned it into a bed and breakfast. The Silence of the Lambs (watch it HERE), will be returning to this house for first time since production ended. Fans can get Brooke Smith’s autograph and take pictures with her in the well in the basement during the three days she will be at the house. Fans can also get guided tours of the house , which is located at 8 Circle St. in Perryopolis, Pennsylvania.Of course, the most interesting part of the house is the basement, and it sounds like Rowan has really made it up right. He has transformed it into “Buffalo Bill’s Workshop of Horrors”, recreating the set from “completely with vintage Singer sewing machines, disco balls, four female mannequins, dressed to resemble those in the movie as well as a full-length mirror and Buffalo Bill style Kimono for guests to use, designed to get fans ‘in to the mood’ so they can live out their Buffalo Bill fantasy. As people enter the basement, the haunting song “Goodbye Horses” that plays during the famous Buffalo Bill Dance Scene will automatically play. “The actual well is made of granite and has all the gruesome marks from the movie including bloody fingernail scratches on the walls. Upon entering the interactive set in the basement, guests are greeted with sounds of dripping and sound clips of Catherine Martin (played Brooke Smith) scream for her life. The famous movie hostage is also represented by a jumpsuit, wig and curly hair. Guests are encouraged to dress up as Catherine to experience the film. For gruesome photos, brave guests can enter the well. There is also a stuffed “Precious,” a little white poodle that belongs to the killer. A bucket with lotion can be raised or lowered as well as tube and knob lighting to enhance the eerie atmosphere. To complete the chilling scene, there is also a hose for guests who want to channel Buffalo Bill’s character.
