Derek Hough is an American professional latin and ballroom dancer and choreographer. He is known for his work, since September 2007, on the ABC dance-competition series Dancing with the Stars, on which he has won a record six seasons. He was moved to London at age 12 and lived there for 10 years, before moving to Los Angeles to star on Dancing with the Stars .
Hough was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Mari Anne Hough and Bruce Robert Hough. He is a cousin to R5 members Riker, Rocky, Ross and Rydel Lynch. He attended and graduated from the Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts in London. Hough is the older brother of dancer and actress Julianne Hough. He was named IDSF World Youth Latin Champion in 2002.
