Danny Elfman is excited to return for Beetlejuice 2, the long-awaited sequel to the Tim Burton film starring Michael Keaton.
The long-awaited sequel to Beetlejuice finally seems like it will be happening, and Danny Elfman couldn’t be more excited. While speaking with Deadline, Danny Elfman teased his return for Beetlejuice 2, which will reunite him with his longtime collaborator Tim Burton.
“I love being a fly on the wall when he’s shooting. Danny Elfman revealed that he will be doing this in a few months, as you might know, on another Tim Burton production. ” Danny Elfman spoke of Beetlejuice. “That’s very exciting to return to that universe.“, he said. He added that a recent question asked him whether Michael Keaton would be able to step back into Beetlejuice, 35 years after the original film was released. “I told him, ‘He won’t even look that different.’ The Beetlejuice make-up is stunning. Elfman explained that he already looked like he had 150 years in the first film. “It is perfect, you know?” Michael is the only one who doesn’t have to play next generation. He’s still really fit, really active and on it. I can’t imagine that he will look any different with the Beetlejuice make-up. So, I can’t wait for that.“Related

A sequel to Beetlejuice has been in the works since the release of the first movie back in 1988. The gang was originally supposed to return in Beetlejuice goes Hawaiian
but the project never progressed. Tim Burton confirmed that the project would not be made after years of development. It was revived by Warner Bros. in a decade when Seth Grahame Smith was hired to write the script.
