Netflix’s Arnold trailer explores Arnold Schwarzenegger’s journey from bodybuilder to Hollywood legend, politics, and more!
Arnold Schwarzenegger is here to pump you up for Arnold, a new three-part documentary from Netflix detailing the life and times of a living legend. On Wednesday, Netflix released an Arnold trailer focusing on the Hollywood superstar’s journey from bodybuilder to box office megastar, politics, humanitarianism, and more!
Here’s the official description for Arnold:
This three-part documentary series chronicles Arnold Schwarzenegger’s journey from the countryside of Austria to the highest echelons of the American dream. In a series candid interviews, Schwarzenegger and his friends, enemies, co-stars and observers cover everything from Schwarzenegger’s days pumping iron, to his triumphs on Hollywood, as well as his time as governor of California. Schwarzenegger is a household name, but he wants to be even more. He wants to be remembered for his victories and failures, with history books looking fondly at his achievements throughout his unique lifetime.

EPISODE ONE: ATHLETE
Young, restless Arnold Schwarzenegger dreams of leaving his native Austria and his complicated family life. He decides to compete in body-building before he joins the military after seeing Reg Park as Hercules on the big screen. He expands his mind, body, community, and vocabulary as he travels to international competitions, obliterating competitors, winning thirteen global titles, and moving to the U.S.
EPISODE 2: ACTOR
Having conquered the world of competitive Body-Building, Schwarzenegger now turns his attention to Hollywood. Schwarzenegger’s unlikely and startlingly successful rise from stiff strengthman to charismatic action hero is charted by co-stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Linda Hamilton, director James Cameron, and competitor Sylvester Stallone. Schwarzenegger shatters box office records for more than a decade with hard-hitting action films like
Predator and the blockbuster Terminator franchise and beloved comedies including Twins and Kindergarten Cop. As he has done with previous competitors, he vanquishes a health scare but begins to become restless for a new challenge.EPISODE THREE: AMERICAN
Schwarzenegger sets his sights on politics. Schwarzenegger, who has a history of success in the political arena, faces a greater challenge than before. He wins both a California recall election and a general elections, and governs one of the world’s largest economies for seven years. Although it disrupts his family life, and he has detractors who criticize him, Gov. Schwarzenegger has also been praised for his many accomplishments. After the twists and turns of his stranger-than-fiction tale, Schwarzenegger reflects deeply on his life and makes himself useful with philanthropic ventures and awareness-raising on issues ranging from anti-Semitism to climate change.
