The curtain has been lowered on the
Indiana Jones
franchise and Harrison Ford takes his final bow as this adventurer who graced the silver screens for 42 years. Steven Spielberg and George Lucas decided to make a nostalgic movie to recapture their childhood in 1981. Raiders Of The Lost Ark is the result. Harrison Ford was able parlay his fame as Han Solo into a new rogue hero. Harrison Ford always seemed to prefer Indy over Han Solo, as he believed Solo’s story ended with either The Empire strikes backor Return of the Jedi. Ford returns to the Indiana Jones franchise in 2023 after a cameo in the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles from the 90s and Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull from 2008. Even with the divided reactions to Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull there were still glimmers from the past Spielberg touch. Mangold stepped up to direct the film and co-wrote it with Spielberg collaborator David Koepp as well as Jez & John Henry Butterworth. Indy is aided by the daughter of a former colleague, Phoebe Waller Bridge. This time, the antagonists are Boyd Halbrook and Mads Mikkelsen. What did you think of the movie? The hype was lukewarm, with a divisive buzz. Chris Bumbray’s review included a less-than-stellar opinion. It needs to improve. Everyone involved was capable of making a great Indiana Jones film, but this feels like just another middle-of-the-road would-be blockbuster.”Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
