Before Marvel’s Secret Invasion comes to Disney+ on June 21, the mouse-eared streaming platform is teasing the upcoming mini-series with a new Secret Invasion TV Spot. The promo portrays Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), as the most wanted man on Earth, as the Skrulls attack the weak spots in our defense against the approaching invasion. In the MCU, heroes have fought gods, monsters and unspeakable creatures. The Skrulls, an alien race, can perfectly mimic any human being. This makes them the ultimate infiltration weapon and a threat to humanity. They could be anyone, at any time. Your neighbors. Your neighbors. Your partners. They’re everywhere. They’re everywhere. Fury knows Earth faces a threat unlike any he has ever seen, and there is almost no one who he can trust in order to stop the invasion. Gravik, fed up with Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), defected from the group of Skrulls that we met in Captain Marvel’s
. The situation mirrors actual world events where groups defect, sewing chaos and disorder in an otherwise peaceful alliance.Speaking with Vanity Fair in March, Jackson said, “We don’t know who’s a friend, who’s the enemy.”
He continues, “There’s a political aspect that kind of fits into where we are right now. Who’s okay, who’s not? What happens when people are afraid and can’t understand each other? You can’t tell who’s innocent and who’s guilty in this particular instance.”While speaking with People, Cobie Smulders teased the series, saying that Secret Invasion is “much more dark in tone than ones previous. It’s hard to know who to trust.”
Smulders continued, “Secret Invasion shows us insight into the lives of agents working to keep Earth and its inhabitants safe. Now, there’s a major discovery about the Skrulls. Maria has been trying to get Nick Fury back to Earth to help with a multitude of problems but when the Skrulls become public knowledge, it finally gets his attention.”Ben Mendelsohn, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Carmen Ejogo, Christopher McDonald, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Killian Scott, and more join Jackson and Smulders for this exciting mini-series.Is Marvel’s Secret Invasion TV spot exciting you about the upcoming mini-series?
