The reception for
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem
was very positive, proving the brand’s timeless relevance. The animation is fresh and focuses on the fact that the characters are teenagers who are adjusting to their unique existence in adolescence. Jeff Rowe credited the animated Spider-Man movies Spider-Man Into the Spider-verse, and Spider-Man Across the Spider-verse with inspiring him because of their unique style and intention with their animation. It was recently revealed that CGI artists working on large-budget films are under intense conditions, with long hours of work and little time for rest. Rowe was very careful to ensure that the animators weren’t overworked or exhausted during the production of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem. Rowe told Insider that “That was something we were really concerned about on this film. I learned it from Seth & Evan because after getting to know Seth I was like, “He has a good work-life balanced and everyone at Point Gray is.” Rowe continued
: “I asked him about it and he said, ‘Well when you do live action, you can be on the set for 40 consecutive days and that’s exhausting. We want to ensure that our employees have time away from the set and that it does not become their entire life. ‘” He added, “I really took that to heart and wanted to make sure that when we made this film, we did it ethically.”“We’d be like, ‘Great, let’s figure that out, and let’s accommodate that because that’s your process and that’s what leads you to make your best art. We would do this with the majority of the team, and try to make everyone feel supported. Rowe said, “I never want the team suffering more than I do.”
After the stories of the horrid conditions CGI artists would work under, it’s recently been reported that the animators at Marvel Studios, whose movies involve an endless list of special effects work, have voted to unionize in order to protect themselves.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1VsW6qQEMA
