The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland may be my favorite attraction at the park. Yes, I would love to see a fun movie that brought the ride’s charm onto the big screen. (Read our review). No, it wasn’t the 2003 version. The latest film bringing “hitchhiking spirits” to the theatres was a fun time with a little heart. Justin Simien’s take on HauntedMansion was an entertaining feature. It’s cute and funny, but some of the ghostly images are a bit spooky. It had been a while since I spoke to Mr. Simien and it was great to see him again. The filmmaker spoke about the challenges of making the film, and the different levels that the world-famous attraction had.
