With no logic whatsoever, people are calling for Sandra Bullock to return her The Blind Side Oscar amid the Tuohy/Oher controversy.
Over the past week, some have called for Sandra Bullock to return the Academy Award she won for playing Leigh Anne Tuohy in 2009’s The Blind Side – and not because she didn’t deserve it. The outcry is a result of Michael Oher, a former professional football player, who claims that Leigh Anne Tuohy and Sean Tuohy did not adopt him, but instead used the story to gain financial gain. He discovered this nearly 15 years after the release of The Blind Side. The attempts to find a logical explanation for the situation have failed. After all, the success of
The blind Side as well as the many accolades Sandra Bullock has received (including a Golden Globe and Screen Actors guild Award), have nothing to do with the real-life Tuohy case. Objectively, however, some may see it as Bullock taking advantage just as the Tuohy parents have allegedly done, even though there is no evidence that she was aware of any of this part of the story.Quinton Aaron, who played Michael Oher opposite Sandra Bullock in The Blind Side, has come to his co-star’s defense on this front, saying,
“To make a statement like that doesn’t make any sense…Sandra Bullock didn’t have anything to do with the real story that we’re reading as of right now…She gave a brilliant performance…And that shouldn’t be tarnished for something that had nothing to do with her.”Earlier this week, Oher filed a petition to seek monetary compensation for the alleged actions of the Tuohy family. Sean responded by saying that members of his own family made just as much money from The blind and that they could not adopt him legally because he was older than 18.
In 2010 Sandra Bullock became one of the first actresses to win the Oscar for Best Actress and the Razzie Award (for Worst Actress) in the same weekend. She even accepted the industry dishonor She is currently taking a break from acting. Is there any argument to be made? Let us know your thoughts.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O18hqKWQjkU
