Arnold Schwarzenegger says that AI has transformed James Cameron’s The Terminator into a reality.

The rise of AI over the last year has been astounding, terrifying, and everything in between, but for Arnold Schwarzenegger, it’s the beginning of the future predicted in James Cameron’s The Terminator.

The Terminator imagined a future in which the artificial intelligence known as Skynet became self-aware and destroyed much of humanity. Arnold Schwarzenegger spoke recently about the AI prediction in The Terminator. We aren’t quite there yet, but it’s a step closer. “Today everyone is afraid of it, where this is going to go,“, the actor said during an Evening with Arnold Schwarzenegger in Los Angeles. “In this movie, ‘Terminator’, we talk about machines becoming self aware and taking over…Now, over the course decades, it is a reality. It’s no longer a fantasy or futuristic. It’s here now. And so this is the extraordinary writing of Jim Cameron.“
