I admit that I thought the
Sonic the Hedgehog
film would be another video-game movie failure, but we now have a sequel and another one on the way. There’s a spin-off television series centered on Knuckles, with Idris voicing the character once again. The cast of the Knuckles TV series has now added five new members.Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future
), Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride), Stockard Channing (Grease), Paul Scheer (Veep), and Rob Huebel (Children’s Hospital) have joined the cast of the Knuckles TV series. Their characters are not yet known. The nature of their characters is unknown at this time. Previous cast members include Adam Pally who will reprise the role as Wade Whipple as well as Edi Patter, Julian Barratt Scott Mescudi and Ellie Taylor. Rory McCann and Tika Sumpter will also guest star in the series, with Sumpter reprising her role of Maddie from the movies.Related
Idris Elba to star as a director in the action thriller Infernus
TV series will be set between the events of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3. According to the official logline, the series will follow Knuckles as he “agrees to train Wade as his protege and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.” Sonic the Hedgehog 2 co-writer John Whittington wrote the script for the Knuckles pilot and will serve as head writer and executive producer on the series. Jeff Fowler, who helmed both Sonic movies, will direct the pilot and also serve as executive producer. Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, and Idris Elba are also onboard the series as executive producers, with Ged Wright, Brandon Trost, Jorma Taccone, and Carol Banker directing the remaining episodes of the series.Knuckles will debut on Paramount+ in late 2023, with
