Trisha Krishnan, known mononymously as Trisha, is an Indian film actress and model, who primarily works in the South Indian film industries, where she has established herself as a leading actress. Trisha was born on the 4th of May 1983 in Pallakad, Kerala, India.
Trisha was born to Krishnan and Uma in Chennai into a family, whose Tamil speaking ancestors hailed from the Palakkad region of Kerala. Trisha completed schooling at the Sacred Heart Matriculation School in Church Park, Chennai, and later pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) course at the Ethiraj College for Women (Chennai). She ventured into modelling and appeared in several print and television commercials. In 1999, she won the “Miss Salem” beauty pageant, and later the same year, the Miss Madras contest. She had also won the Miss India 2001 pageant’s “Beautiful Smile” award.
Tamil movie ‘Jodi’ was her first film in 1999 and she appeared in a supporting role in this flick. Trisha got to essay the lead role in ‘Mounam Pesiyadhe’ in 2002. Trisha done her schooling from Chennai-based Sacred Heart Matriculation School. The young lady even pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration from Ethiraj Women’s College in Chennai. She rose to fame post her successful Tamil flicks ‘Ghilli’ and ‘Saamy’ and Telugu flick ‘Varsham’. The actress even received South Filmfare Best Actress Award for this. Some other movies like ‘Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana’ and ‘Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule’. Trisha entered in Bollywood with the film ‘Khatta Meetha’ alongside Akshay Kumar. She wanted to debut in the film industry with the name Suhasini. She is a Tamil/Malayalee Brahmin.
